NeuroTone

Overview

Binaural beats and Solfeggio tones, generated on your phone as they play. There is not one audio file in the app — no streaming, no looping sample, no account. Every screen shows the exact frequency in each ear: a binaural beat reads L 200.00 Hz, R 200.50 Hz with the 0.50 Hz difference named directly, so you can always see what you are listening to.

What it does

Sixteen frequencies, two taps from launch to sound: seven binaural beats on the classic brainwave bands — Epsilon 0.5, Delta 2, Theta 6, Schumann 7.83, Alpha 10, Beta 20 and Gamma 40 Hz, all on a 200 Hz carrier — plus nine Solfeggio pure tones from 174 to 963 Hz. Sessions run from 15 minutes to two hours or continuously, the screen can dim itself and keep playing, and history stays on the device where you can export it as CSV or erase it. Three colour palettes in light and dark, TalkBack support throughout, and headphone detection that stops rather than pretending — two tones mixed in the air are no longer a beat.

Technical details

Tones come from a phase accumulator running at the device's own output rate, so a session can be any length without a loop seam and the beat stays exact to the sample clock over hours rather than drifting. A 60-minute soak measured zero underruns. The whole app is under 2 MB. It declares three permissions, all for audio playback, and INTERNET is not among them — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDK, nothing to send anything anywhere. Text contrast was measured across all six colour schemes and corrected until every one passed 4.5:1.

NeuroTone is a sound generator for relaxation and focus practice. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Start at a low volume — sustained listening at high volume can damage your hearing. Do not use while driving or operating machinery, and consult a doctor first if you have epilepsy or any seizure disorder, a pacemaker or other implanted device, or if you are pregnant.
